By tradition, the names of newborn girls are announced in synagogues with no accompanying home ceremony. More and more families, however, are choosing to have a brit bat ceremony at home for their infant daughters. I perform a brit bat ceremony that closely parallels the brit milah ceremony (obviously excluding the circumcision). The brit bat ceremony is not time limited and can be performed up to the age of bat mitzvah, often on the same day as a younger brother's brit milah.
